Providing need-based and appropriate health messages to the community members remain as a challenge and complex issue for the provision of health services and linking community with health service facility. Social and Behavior Change Communication (SBCC) interventions act as a driving force to make health messages accessible to people and get mobilized to practice model health behavior.

In view of this understanding, the MoHFW have planned to muster their SBCC efforts coordinated through Health, Population and Nutrition (HPN) units as it is planned under the Operational Plan (OP) of the respective units to get a synergistic impact.

This coordination is being technically assisted by USAID & supported by Ujjiban project partnering with Bangladesh Center for Communication Programs (BCCP).

A day-long joint Operational Plan Coordination workshop was held on 10th of December, 2017 at BCCP office premises and was inaugurated by Ms. Roxana Qader, Additional Secretary (PH&WH), MoHFW. The workshop was also graced by the presence of officials of the Health Population & Nutrition units. The Honorable Additional Secretary opined that there is a gripping need of coordinated efforts to get positive results by maximizing resources. The workshop came up with a detail plan of action identifying the area of coordination.
